Emma G. Gabaldon, age 94, of Southeast Albuquerque, went with the Lord on October 3, 2000. Emma was a member of the San Jose Church, League of the Sacred Heart, and Legion of Mary Rosary. Emma is survived by two grandchildren, Ernest Nuanes and Emily Martinez, the wife of Jerry Martinez; five great-grandchildren, Melissa, J.J., Jessica Angel, and Shantell; and six great great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She is also survived by one sister, Margie Apodaca, the wife of Mannie; one brother, Toby Griego, the husband of Annie; and lots of nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, David Gabaldon; daughter, Melba G. Nuanes; two brothers, Alfred and Arthur Griego; as well as a great-grandchild, Brenda Nuanes and great-great-grandchild, Isaiah Martinez. Funeral services for Mrs. Gabaldon will be held on Friday at San Jose Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Martinez Jr., Jesse Williams, Felix Gallegos, Manuel Apodaca Jr., Steve Apodaca and Dennis Garley. Honorary pallbearers will be David Griego, Ernest Roybal and Toby Griego. Visitation for Mrs. Gabaldon will be held on Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
