Mary S. Baca, 68, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, was called home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 13, 2000. Mrs. Baca was born on April 11, 1931 to the late Isidro P. and Frances Sanchez; she was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque; a parishioner of the Church of the Ascension; she enjoyed playing the machines at the casino; and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Santos Baca of the family home; two sons, Santos Baca Jr. and wife, Kathy, Joseph Baca and wife, Lillian; two daughters, Nancy Chavez and husband, Steve, Annette Maez and husband, Conrad; her precious grandchildren, Santos Baca III, Tony Lee Baca, Maryanna Baca, Joseph Baca Jr., Steve Chavez Jr., Tanya Chavez, Anjannette Maez and Diondra Maez; two great-grandchildren, Amaday and Lorenzo Baca. Also surviving are two brothers, Ralph C. Sanchez and wife, Lydia of Barstow, CA, Silverio and his family of Albuquerque; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Nep C. Sanchez and her family; a brother-in-law, Nago Vallez and his family; and several nieces, nephews and other family members. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Church of the Ascension. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Los Padillas Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Santos Baca III, Tony Lee Baca, Steve Vallez, Issac Sanchez, Albie Sanchez and Joseph Baca Jr. Honorary bearers will be Frank Sanchez and Ray Sanchez.
