Obituary for Fleming

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday November 15, 2000

Robert G. Fleming passes away November 11 after losing his battle with cancer. He was 73. Growing up near Keedysville, MD on a small farm without electricity or plumbing did not bring complaints about hard times, but only inspired him to work harder for a better life. In 1950 Bob started working at the fledgling Sandia National Laboratories. He retired 43 years later. It was a career he was very proud of. His brothers and sister, Charles, Jack, Lynn, and Jeanne; his children, Peggy, Dana, Lance, and Liese and their families; as well as his long time sweetheart, Emma Vasquez; and her daughters, Karen and Cheryl, will miss him greatly. He was a good, loving man, respected and deeply loved by all whose life he touched. Private family service have been held. Sunrise Society is serving the family of Mr. Fleming ( 891-8200)
