Obituary for Marquez

1949-2000 Rudy Marquez Sr., 50, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 13, 2000. Rudy loved farming, and being with his dad, whom he spent everyday with. He was the Belen Eagles #1 fan, and loved little league, playing horseshoes, cooking for parties, and he held the best matanzas. Rudy and his wife, Lena were married for 27 years and were always doing something together. He was a wonderful dad, his boys were his pride, and he was always proud of each of them. His sisters, Florinda Cordova and Mary Marquez preceded Rudy in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Lena; his sons, Rudy Marquez Jr. and Devanne, Roman Marquez, Reyes Marquez, and Lincoln Hill; his parents, Juan and Louisa Marquez; his sisters, Gloria Montano, Carmen Marquez, Corina Trujeque and husband, Paul, Esther Trujillo and husband, Dennis, Jean Ruof and husband, Jim, Geneva Brady and husband, Michael, and Lori Kurtz and husband, James; his brother, Chris Marquez and wife, Judy; his grandson, Matthew Marquez; his loving nieces and nephews, Larry, Jerry, Suzanne, Cheryl, Donna, Rueben, Gary, Ricky, Stan, Kenny, Jeremy, Jonathon, Jaclyn, Jennifer, Dennis, Amy, Anthony, Daniel, Erica, Brian, Monica, Christina, Sebastian, Nicholas, Amanda, Jessica, and Jaime; and many, many friends."He was the busiest man we knew, but he was NEVER too busy for his family and friends", his family wrote. Visitation for Rudy will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday morning, June 16, with Father David Gallegos officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Trujeque, Mando Sanchez, Dennis Trujillo Sr., Dennis Trujillo Jr., Dominic Gurule and James Kurtz.
