Obituary for Phelan

Thomas R. Phelan, 73, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, suffered a heart attack while competing in a horseshoe tournament that he won, died Sunday, June 11, 2000. He is survived by his companion, Gerry Adkins; children, Fonda Ray and husband, Paul, Douglas D. Phelan, and Johnna"Jay" Phelan; sisters, Bonnie Phelan, and Patricia Phelan, all of Albuquerque; brother, Doug Phelan and wife, Shirley of Michigan; grandchildren, Lanette Williams, Jackie Ray, Erin Hartsock and fiancé, Jason DeKeno, Kyle Hartsock, Crystal Ray, and Casee D. Warner; and great-granddaughter, Jennifer Yancey. Mr. Phelan was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Phelan in 1992; and son, Rick Phelan in 1993. Graveside services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Mr. Kenny Hill officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
