Obituary for Parmley

Mildred Mather Parmley, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for over 70 years, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000 from the effects of a massive stroke. Mildred worked in the attendance office at Highland High School for over 30 years, and in her retirement years continued to work and be active in a Credit Union office, a retirement home, and lastly in a Campfire day care program at Montezuma School. She was a wonderful musician and soprano soloist, and over the years directed choirs at Monte Vista Christian Church, Trinity & University Heights United Methodist Churches and was choir director at St. Andrews United Methodist Church for 25 years until retiring in 1989. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Blanche Mather; two brothers, William and Robert; and daughter, Patricia in 1998. She is survived by two nephews, Sam and Greg Mather in Ohio; niece, Bobbie Cottrill in Florida; her dear great-niece, Anne Lemieux in South Carolina; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Mather in Albuquerque. Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Faith Chapel, 1726 Girard Blvd. NE, with Rev. Mable Dawe and Rev. Tom Salmon officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Reed Clarke, Tom Thompson, Harry Ranville, Matt Ranville, Don Walker and Harold Demar.
