Obituary for Smith

Elmer Smith, born July 17, 1929, passed away January 6, 2000, after a long illness. He was born and raised in Kentucky, but had been a resident of New Mexico since the late 1960's and retired from the Air Force in 1971. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula and father, Edward Smith. He is survived by his wife, Selina; son, Russell Smith of Colorado, Phillip Hoehne of Vaughn; daughters, Kimberlee Turpin of Albuquerque, Dolores Wood of Rio Rancho, Yolanda Donalson of Rio Rancho, and Nancy Flores of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kevin Smith, Ashley Smith, Amber Turpin, Megan Wood, Ashley Wood, William Waters, Jonathan Flores, Jacqueline Flores, and Rachel Hoehne; great-grandchildren, Joshuah Flores, Jasmin Flores, and Darryn Flores; sister, Irene Ball; and brother, Gene Smith, both of Florida; daughter-in-law, Carmen Smith and sons-in-law, Dan Donalson, Jake Flores and Matthew Wood; and also his many friends, sisters, and brothers from the Church of Christ. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2000 at the Church of Christ, 1006 22nd St. SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
