John Dillard"JD" Coggins Jr. passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Albuquerque. He was a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute and the University of New Mexico. He received his Masters degree from Northwestern University. He served as an officer in the United States Army in Korea. John was active in the agribusiness industry serving as Vice President of the Arizona Colorado Land and Cattle Company and President and CEO of Western Farm Management. He was with the Valley National Bank of Arizona for 15 years, where he served as Senior Vice President. He also served as Executive Vice President of State National Bank in El Paso. John and his wife, Zoe Ann retired to Rio Rancho in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Zoe Ann Coggins; three children, Mark, Lynnette and John; and six grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano Rd. NW, with Father Walter Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association-NM, 6301 Forest Hills Dr. NE 87110.
