Obituary for Banks

Ola J. Banks, 88, died Tuesday, January 4, 2000, in Los Lunas. She had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, and was a member of Hoffmantown Church. Mrs. Banks was born on March 2, 1911 in Ft. Worth, TX and born again by faith in Jesus Christ in 1923. A 1928 graduate of Central High School (now R.L. High School) in the same city, she enjoyed a 64 year marriage with William Alton Banks, who preceded her home going. A pianist and lover of gospel music, she served many churches in Texas and New Mexico, both as a pianist and Bible teacher. Her devotion to her family near and far, to the common pleasures of home life and to the furtherance of Christ's kingdom, remain a legacy deeply appreciated. She is survived by one sister, Lou Dorris of Mandeville, LA; and one brother, David L. Jackson and his wife, Nona of McKinney, TX; three children, Charlene Krummel of Albuquerque, Lanelle Hyde of Mansfield, TX and Byron Banks of Los Lunas; five grandchildren, Bruce Krummel of Tijeras, Blake Hyde and his wife, Dot of Dallas, TX, Kelly Hyde of Knoxville, TN, Wendy Banks of Providence, RI and Josie Banks of Los Lunas; four great-grandchildren; and by numerous other relatives and friends. A Funeral service will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Ray Jaramillo officiating. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Byron Banks, Bruce Krummel, David Jackson, Greg Jackson and Blake Hyde. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
