Obituary for Angel

Rita Angel died peacefully in her home on January 2, 2000 surrounded by her companion of many years, Cheryl Zahm and their friends. Rita will be remembered for her kindness, her respect for others and her bravery. She was courageous and maintained dignity while fighting a brain tumor. Rita was a pianist and full professor at the University of New Mexico. Her favorite times playing and musically collaborating were those spent with Frank Bowen and Donna McRae. Rita's survivors are Cheryl Zahm, Tonie and Joe Angel, Ron Angel and his wife, Jacqueline and Matthew Angel.
