Obituary for Slaven

George M. Slaven, 85, a resident of the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area since 1963, died Sunday, December 30, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Slaven of Rio Rancho; daughter, Deborah Armijo and husband, Bernie of Golden, NM; grandchildren, Samantha and Anita; and sister, Sylvia Rosen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth. Mr. Slaven was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He served his county during WWII in France and Germany, being involved in the Normandy Invasion and also the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Slaven was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners while living in Massachusetts. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at 12:00 noon, at Fairview Memorial Park.
