Obituary for Skidmore

Jon Skidmore, 67, died Saturday evening. A resident of New Mexico his entire life, he is survived by his wife of 21 years, Charlotte Skidmore, of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his son, Gary Skidmore and wife, Eve of Albuquerque; son, Rick Skidmore of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Dixie Robinson of Albuquerque, Rosie Bohannon and husband, Herb of Albuquerque, Marilyn Turpin of Albuquerque, and Tootie Smith and husband, Larry of Philo, Illinois; and a brother, Tommy Skidmore of Albuquerque. Jon worked in construction his entire life with the last 15 years before his retirement in 1999, as a Superintendent at the Jaynes Corporation. He was inducted into the Albuquerque Bowlers Hall of Fame in 1996 for superior performance and commitment to the sport of bowling. He will be missed by many of his friends in the bowling community. Cremation has taken place and there will be a reception at Holiday Bowl, 7515 Lomas NE, on January 3, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
