Obituary for Moxey

Ann M. Moxey, a longtime resident of Estancia, passed away on December 28, 2001. She was born in Aurora, Illinois on January 7, 1915. Mrs. Moxey was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Fred W. Moxey, former director of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association and New Mexico State Tax Commissioner under former Gov. Edwin L. Mechem. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Wilson and husband, Charles of Albuquerque; sons, Hank Moxey and wife, Joann of Campo, California, Kent Moxey and wife, Connie of Golden Colorado, James Moxey of Brownsberg, Indiana, and William N. Moxey and wife, Bettye of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Prior to moving to Estancia after Mr. Moxey's retirement in 1970, the Moxeys lived in Santa Fe for 20 years where Mrs. Moxey was active in the Saint Francis Altar Society and the Dig N Hope Garden Club. Mrs. Moxey was an active member of the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia until August 2000 when she moved to St. Mary's Rest Home in Albuquerque. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, St. Joseph and 3rd, Estancia, NM, with Fr. Anthony Martinez, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Wilson, Brian Wilson, Michael Moxey, Sam Polles, Rueben Hall, and Kenneth Taylor.
