Edith Mary Hardy, 81, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 11 years, left this life on January 6, 2002. She was born August 18, 1920 the daughter of George W. and Bertha Gibbs. She had been an accountant with the Borax Company before retiring. Gardening was her favorite pasttime. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, in 1996. She is survived by one son, Richard Whittmore and wife, Ginny and thier family of Rio Rancho; one brother, George Gibbs of Rio Rancho; and her precious dog, Freckles. The visitation for Edith will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2002 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Cremation will follow. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.
