Mr. Ruben M. Padilla died Monday, January 7, 2002 at the age of 45. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel S. Padilla in October of 1998. Ruben was a 1974 graduate of Rio Grande High School. He is survived by his mother, Hope L. Padilla; brothers, Amado Padilla and wife, Deborah of Stanford, CA, Stanley Padilla and wife, JoEllen of San Francisco, CA, Genaro Padilla and wife, Maria of Berkeley, CA, and Alonzo Padilla and wife, Sandra of Albuquerque, NM; nieces and nephews, Diego, Daphne, Rocky, Amanda, Tania, Manuel, Genaro Jr., Jessica, Xochi, Camila, Jessica Marie, and Alexandra; aunts, Jennie Temer, Lucella Padilla, Tina Brusuelas, and Emily Levin and husband, Richard; uncle, Mike Lopez and wife, Betty; cousins, Norbert Lopez and wife, Corinne; Eddie Brusuelas and wife, Stella; and many other cousins and many friends. Funeral Services for Mr. Padilla will be held on Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Gurule, Raymond Gurule, Robert Serna, Edward Brusuelas, Billie Sands and Genaro Padilla, Jr. Visitation for Mr. Padilla will be held on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne Church. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
