Obituary for Oglesby

Edward D. Oglesby, 79, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on January 9, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Beth Oglesby on December 30, 2001. Edward was a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for 28 years. He and his wife taught at and were active members for over 40 years at Sandia Dog Obedience School where they specialized in puppy obedience classes but enjoyed teaching all the classes. Edward held every office there was in the club at one time or another. He was a military history buff and enjoyed studying and learning about war history and was a civil war scholar and military historian. Edward worked for A.P.S. from 1968-1985 at Wilson Middle School and Highland High School where he taught math. He loved to travel all over the United States and Canada with his wife. Service will be held on Monday, January 14, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks North of Paseo Del Norte) with Pastor Lem Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
