Obituary for Carrell

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 13, 2002

Mary Alice Raught Carrell born at Elizabethtown, NM, a former gold mining town in northern New Mexico. She was a very independent person, and was, for the most part, fortunate enough to live her life as she wished. She worked at the Albuquerque Woolworth's record department for many years. She loved gambling especially horse racing. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Simpson and Peggy Hamilton; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other relatives. The family wishes to offer special thanks to all her neighbors and friends who have been so kind over the years. Cremation has taken place and the family has taken her cremated remains to Elizabethtown. In keeping with her desires, there will be no formal services. "Be kind, everyone you meet is in a battle." Catullum.
