Obituary for Santillanes

Andrew Santillanes, age 74, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Tuesday, January 15, 2002, while surrounded by his loving family. Andrew was born in Cuba, NM to the late Porfilio and Natividad Santillanes; he was a resident of Albuquerque; and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, since 1951. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, who served our country during World War II; he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III and the American Legion Post #99. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Dorothy Santillanes of the family home; his precious daughter, Florence Seis and husband, Stuart; his loving grandchildren, Joseph Sandoval and wife, Antoinette, Jennifer Lord and husband, Mark. Also surviving are, his Goddaughter, Elisa Nolasco; and his beloved nephew, Samuel Paul Nolasco; one sister, Corina Mora and husband, Horacio; his father-in-law, Meliton Nolasco; brothers-in-law, Tranquilino Gutierrez and Samuel Salazar; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Andrew will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Special thanks is expressed to the Staff of the Lovelace Hospice Home Care Group for the loving care given to our beloved Andrew. Funeral Services will be conducted this morning at 8:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th Street NW. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Casket Bearers will be Joseph Sandoval, Samuel Paul Nolasco, Martin Acosta, Timothy Paez, Larry Gutierrez, and Mark Lord. Honorary Bearers will be Michael Martinez, Steven Griego, Stuart Seis, and Tim Paez. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street NW.
