Obituary for Eckerman

Mary Deffoe Eckerman was born in Crofton, Kentucky, May 5, 1916 and passed away after a long illness on Saturday, January 19, 2002. Before moving to Albuquerque, Mary and her husband, Nevin, Sr., owned and operated a grocery store and a post office in New Laguna, NM. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Nevin H. Eckerman, Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Nevlyn Eckerman and Lois Eckerman, both of Albuquerque; son, Nevin Eckerman, Jr. and wife, Delia, and their daughter, Rosemary Lyn Eckerman of Albuquerque, NM, and his sons, Nevin H. Eckerman, III and wife, Amanda, and Nicklaus Paul Eckerman and wife, April, from Mobile, AL; son, Edward W. Eckerman and wife, Christy, and their son, Elliot W. Eckerman, all of Albuquerque; great grandchildren, Blakely Eckerman and Hannah Eckerman. Services will be held, Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Ned Fuller of the Bishopric of the Academy Heights Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, presiding. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Quality Continuum Hospice, 8001 Mountain Rd. Pl. NE #2000, 87110.
