Obituary for Watson

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday February 03, 2002

Stella Watson, our beloved mother, grandmother and aunt joined the Lord on January 30, 2002 at the age of 91 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her husband, Sam Watson preceded her in death after 59 years of marriage. Her son, Ernie, his wife Sally, and her three grandchildren Rachelle, Alan and Sarah of Albuquerque survive her. Born on October 1, 1910, the oldest of nine children to Savas and Virginia Lujan in Hoehne, Colorado. She outlived her eight siblings Solomon Lujan, Manuel Lujan, Avade Lujan, Alex Lujan, Helen Mestas, Tony Lujan, Fred Lujan, and Edward Lujan. Her legacy will be the sprit of love and kindness she passed on to her family and those she met during her long life. Her love for her family and friends was only surpassed with the love she had for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will deeply missed but her sprit will live on with those that will remember her as a loving, kind, and gentle person willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Services will be at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 4th and Alameda NW. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, February 4, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
