Jason Louis Benson, "Lou", age 73, died Thursday January 31, 2002 at UNM Hospital. He spent his last weeks surrounded by his loving family. Lou was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 9, 1928 and was a resident of Albuquerque for over 29 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Eddie; and granddaughter, Nycole. Lou is survived by his wife, Helen; and children, Don Vering, Jackie and husband, Lorenzo Gomez, Jody and husband Ross Aragon, Debbie Vering and husband, Mick Baisden, David Benson, Julie Benson; daughter-in-law, Diana Vering; 15 grandchildren, April, Keith, Veronica, Eddie, Michelle, Tonia, Cassy, Deanna, Scott, Brooke, Dallas, Ashlee, Laurynn, Shanynn; and one great-grandchild, Dominic. He will be deeply missed forever. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Monday February 4, 2:00 p.m., at Aspen Funeral Alternatives Chapel, 1935 Juan Tabo NE.
