Obituary for Barber

1927-2002 Dorothy "Dotty" Canton Barber, age 74, passed away on Thursday January 31, 2002. She was born in Clinton Massachusetts on April 23, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents Edmund J. Canton and Eva Canton Pazdra, her brother Edmund W. Canton, infant twin boys John and Joseph Barber, and son Richard Byron Barber. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Glen B. Barber; her son, Glen E. Barber and his wife, Annette of Albuquerque; Arlene Wightman and her husband John of Leavenworth, Kansas, Mary Ann Baker and her husband Martin of Tijeras, Eva Cerise and her husband Mike of Carbondale, Colorado; twelve grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was a charter member of the Los Alamos Women's Golf Association, member and former president of Tierra del Sol Golf Association, an active member and past president of the Horizon Ladies Association, was an active member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church serving on the Alter Guild, Lay Eucharist Minister, and Lay Reader. She would most like to be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday February 6, at 11:00 AM at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with Father Bob Maxwell officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Philip's Episcopal Church at PO Box 1096, Belen, NM 87002. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Home in Belen.
