Obituary for Gruber

Errol G. Gruber, Jr. 66, a resident of Rio Rancho, died unexpectedly in an accident on Monday, February 11, 2002. Errol was born July 6, 1935 the son of Errol Gordon and Katherine Spain Gruber in Dayton, Ohio. He had been an Air Traffic Controller before retiring and he had served in the US Air Force. He was an avid bowler and golfer, he had been President of two leagues, and active in six leagues, the Monday Senior Doubles, Rio Rancho Swingers, Wednesday Mixed, Ranchero Seniors, Thursday Doubles, and the Rancho Runners plus various tournaments. Errol had recently qualified for a trip to Australia. He is survived by his wife, Norma of the family home; three children, James R. Gruber of Tijeras, NM, Robert A. Gruber of Vero Beach, FL, and Silvia L. Green of Las Cruces, NM; three grandchildren; one brother, George Gruber of Dayton, OH; and one sister, Pat Morton of Cambridge, OH. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Pastor Bruno Alfieri officiating. In lieu of flowers, it has been suggested that memorials be sent to St. Felix Pantry, 4020 Barbara Lp. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 or the Storehouse West, Inc., 1030 Veranda Rd.
