Samuel D. Gettings, 84. Son, husband, father, trainman, and avid fisherman. A resident of Weston, CO for the last 22 years and a 30 year resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 5, 2002 in Albuquerque surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister; and devoted wife, Josephine Marie James Gettings. He is survived by first wife, Lea Gettings; and their son, Gary Lee and wife, Shirley; two granddaughters, Vicki and Katie of Lompoc, CA; daughter, Roberta Marie; son, James Bryon of Albuquerque; and brother, Bill and wife, Mildred and their children of Tulsa, OK. Sam was a member of Masonic Hiram Lodge # 13 A.F. & A.M. and Trinidad Lodge #28 A.F. and A.M., the York Rite Masonic Temple, the Ballut Abyad Temple, the American Legion, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the Yardmaster Association, the Stonewall Community Church, the Stonewall Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Segundo, CO Senior Citizen's Center. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2002, 4:00 p.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd., SE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
