Obituary for Rawitzer

William J. Rawitzer, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1992, died Monday, February 18, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Katherine Rawitzer of Albuquerque; daughter, Kate Dwyer of Albuquerque; sons, Bill Rawitzer of Albuquerque and Tom Rawitzer of Minnetonka, MN; seven grandchildren, Mark Kelly, Leslie Kelly, Tom Kelly, Chris Rawitzer, Carrie Rawitzer, Mike Rawitzer and T.J. Rawitzer; great-grandchildren, Bridget Kelly, Megan Kelly, Grace Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Sam Gyongyosi and Madeline Gyongyosi; and brother, Keith Rawitzer of Naples, FL. Mr. Rawitzer was the first mayor of Rancho Mirage, CA. He was a 32 Degree Mason, belonging to the Scottish Rite and had a membership in the Zuhrah Shrine Temple in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Rawitzer was also a member of the Heights Optimist Club. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. ,at La Vida Llena Retirement Community, 10501 Lagrima De Oro NE, with Father Robert Nagiel and Rev. Norton Scrimshire officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to either the Special Olympics, 6600 Palomas NE, Suite 207, 87109 or to the Alzheimers Association, 8100 Mountain Rd. NE, Suite 102, 87110. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
