Obituary for Converse

Landree M. (Lefty) Converse, 66, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sue Converse; daughters, Debbie Tixier and her husband, Mike, Denise Roberts and her husband, Jerry; mother-in-law, Thelma Granger; brother-in-law, Joseph Zebro; grandsons, Tanner, Tyler, Trevor Tixier, J.D. and Chance Roberts. He Is preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Converse; and his brother, Knox Converse. He was a graduate of NMMI and attended UNM. He was the Feed Division Manager for Dan's Boots and Saddles for over 20 years where his knowledge, expertise and love of animals was invaluable to everyone he came in contact with. He was a longtime member of the NM Buckskin Horse Assoc. and the NM Cutting Horse Assoc. He was a qualified horseshow judge for various breeds and donated countless hours to the 4H youth of New Mexico. He was an avid fly fisherman and spent his free time supporting his children and grandchildren's many activities. Lefty will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. Paul's Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution NE, Albuquerque, NM on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation arrangements by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.
