Obituary for Clark

Donald "Don" Leon Clark, 73, went to be with his Lord March 13, 2002. He was a devoted member of Faith Chapel for over 43 years. He was active in numerous church activities, especially cooking. Don was the leader of the Barcelona 4-H Club for over 25 years and was a tremendously talented man, having the ability to construct many things made of wood or metal. He was always smiling and was very energetic, having a love of people, who in turn, loved him dearly. Don worked for many years at Hope Christian School, where he had contact with many students. He had the ability to communicate with them and felt thoroughly rewarded for being able to do work at the school, and with the students. Don loved Orchid flowers and was also a member of the New Mexico Orchid Society. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Esther Clark who went to be with the Lord February 13, 2002. Don was the beloved father of Patricia Laven, Raymond Whisler and wife Jacki; beloved grandfather to Loring Laven, US Army Enlisted, Rebekah Turner of Seattle, Dona, Larry, and William Whisler all of Illinois; beloved great-grandfather of 14 great grandchildren ; and also many other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Faith Chapel, 1726 Girard NE. on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Salmon of Faith Chapel, Wayne Ehlert and Dave Eggars of Hope Christian School, officiating. Burial will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens with his church family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. Albuq. 505-343-8008.
