Obituary for Carrillo

Abrana L. Carrillo, 84, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2002. She was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church. She was a wonderful cook, and you would have to eat at her house even if you were not hungry. Abrana had many friends and she never met a stranger. She was very charismatic. Family and friends were automatically drawn to her because of her personality. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Refugio in 2001; her two sons, Tony and Johnny Carrillo; one brother, Jose; and one sister, Florinda. She is survived by her two daughters, Ramona Chavez and her husband, Tony of Los Lunas; Reyna Montano and her husband, Leonard of Albuquerque; her seventeen grandchildren, Johnny Talamante and his wife, Eleanore of Los Lunas; Michael Talamante and his wife, Lorraine of Rio Rancho; one special grandson, Chris Talamante of Los Lunas; Julie A. Barela and her husband, James of Los Lunas; Kimberly Griego and her husband, Martin of Los Lunas; Isidro Romero and his wife, Pat of Albuquerque; Johnnie Romero and his wife, Marlene; Patricia Gibson and her husband, Tracy; Suzanne Romero; Denise Valerio and her husband, Joe; Antonio Romero; and Christian Montano, all of Albuquerque; Rosalie Hawn and her husband, David of MI; Mark Carrillo of CA; Anthony Carrillo and his wife, Kathy; Robert Carrillo of CA; and another very special great-grandson, Marcos Griego. Abrana is also survived by her numerous loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Monday, March 18, 2002, at 5:30pm in the Sangre de Christo Catholic Church, Valencia, NM with a rosary following at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at 1:00pm also at Sangre de Christo Church. Interment will follow in the San Clemente Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny, Michael, and Chris Talamante, Martin Griego, James Barela, Isidro, Johnnie, and Antonio Romero, and Christian Montano. Abrana's family would like to extend their love and gratitude to the loving and caring staff at Sandia Hospice of St. Josephs Hospital. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
