Alfred (Alifante) Griego, 65, a resident of Albuquerque, born November 25, 1936 went to his heavenly Father on March 17, 2002. Alfred is the son of Mauricio and Eloisa Griego. He passed away surrounded by his loving family. Alfred was preceded in death by his father, Mauricio; and a brother, Reynaldo. Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Louisa of 43 years. He is also survived by his daughters, Debbie Darlene Padilla and husband, Ruben and Sandra Griego; one son, J.P. Griego. His cherished grandchildren, Ruben Anthony, Felicia and Amanda Padilla; his mother, Eloisa; brothers, Abie Griego, Bobby Griego, Bill Griego and wife, Frances, Ernie Griego and wife, Priscilla; one sister, Maria Romero and husband, Joe; a special sister-in-law, Patsy Spoltore; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Griego was a member of the Catholic Church. A Visitation will be Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Frances and Bill Griego. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School NE, by Father Domingo Gumpal. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Randy Griego, Steven Griego, Allen Griego, Gilbert Griego, Gino Arana, Teddy Arana, Vincent Esquibel and Gary Sandoval; honorary pallbearers will be, Jerry Griego and Joe Gallegos. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.
