Dr. Wayne C. Weaver, Veterinarian, age 88, died Friday, March 22, 2002. He was a resident of Country Side Personal Care Home in Lehighton, PA. Dr. Weaver got his education at Ben Salem U.C.C., Lehighton, PA, 1931, Lehighton High School Graduate, University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Medicine in 1937. He opened his Veterinary Clinic for large and small animals in Andreas, Schuykill Co, PA from 1940 until 1981. He was a Life Member of PA Veterinary Medical Assoc; F.& A.M. Masons 621, Lehighton, PA; Rajah Temple of Reading, PA; West Penn Lions Member, where he was honored as Citizen of the year for West Penn Twp. 1981. He also received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award for Humanitarian Service in 1993. He was on the Board of Directors for Tri County State Bank Bowmanstown, Carbon Co., PA and American Bank & Trust Co., Tamaqua, PA. Dr. Weaver was preceded in death by; his father and mother, Clinton Daniel Weaver and Lulu Jane Weaver (Peters); his first wife, Luella Weaver (Miller); second wife, Edith Weaver (Snyder); and one great-grandchild, Rachel Weaver. He is survived by; two sons, Donald Weaver and wife, Sally, of Hatboro, PA, and Berdel Weaver and wife, Reta of Portales, NM; two daughters, Doris E. Sherman and husband, Richard of Montoursville, PA, and Cindy L. Nothstein and husband, Robert of Andreas, PA; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; and companion, Myrtle Fritz. Visitation will be at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., March 25, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Service will be March 26, 2002 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverand Jeffrey P. Kistler officiating at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, interment to follow at Ben Salem Church Cemetery.
