Marianne Kern Newton made her transition on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. She was born in Nashville, TN on September 21 1928 and moved to Albuquerque in 1951. During WWII she worked as an entertainer with her parents for the USO, entertaining the troops stateside. Later, she was employed as a secretary at Sandia National Laboratories. She is survived by a son, David Kern of Albuquerque. Her love for animals was a passion throughout her life, especially dogs. Those wishing to remember Marianne may so do by a contribution to Animal Humane Association, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Cremation has taken place, and there will be no services. Cremation arrangements were by Sunrise Society, 891-8200.
