Obituary for Ryan

Donald H. "Don" Ryan, 79, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Duanne Ryan of Albuquerque; children, Michael Ryan and wife, Donna of Durango, CO, Connie Ryan of Albuquerque, Dan Ryan and wife, Peggy of Tucson, AZ, Colleen Domme and husband, Dan, Kelly Ryan and wife, Rita, Marty Ryan, Duffy Ryan, all of Albuquerque, Mindy Hancock and husband, Wes, Lori Salopek and husband, Frank, all of Las Cruces and Kerry Van Amburg and husband, Steve of Albuquerque; 33 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay McClain and husband, Jim of California and Carole Hein and husband, Joe of Iowa; and brothers, Jim Ryan and wife, Lois of Iowa and Tom Ryan of California. Mr. Ryan was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the European Theatre during WWII. He worked for over 20 years at Sears. Mr. Ryan also worked, for over 30 years, with the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as the General Manager of Gate of Heaven Cemetery. He was known for a great sense of humor, his love of life and especially, his love for his family. Don will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited Thursday, April 11, 2002, at 7:00 p.m., at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 12, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., also at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE, Thursday, April 11, 2002, from 6:30 p.m. until time of Rosary. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
