Lola A. Gurule, 93, born in Scholle, NM, the fourth child of Donaciano and Andrea (Garcia) Aragon, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2002. Since 1997 Lola resided in Phoenix, AZ where she passed away after a long illness. Known as"Nana" by her grandchildren. Lola's family was her pride and she will be missed greatly by her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Lola was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Amado B. Gurule, who died in 1984; and by her grandson, Steve in 1983. Also preceding her in death were her brothers and sisters, Nora, Sam, Andres, Carl, Patsy, Sophia and Fannie. She is survived by her daughters, Vina and her husband, Bill; and Andrea; grandchildren, Kendra, and her husband, Devon; Bryan and his wife, Beverly, and Mark and his wife, Jennifer; and great-grandchildren, Steven, Adam, Christopher, Andrew, Timothy, Tiffany; Kimberly and Jacob. A viewing will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at Romero Funeral Home with a Rosary following at 6:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2002 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with interment following at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
