Obituary for Pino

Eddie Pino, age 74, died Saturday evening April 20, 2002 at his home with his family at his side. Eddie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Naomi de Pino; three children, Nathan Pino, Bernadette Pino de Goler, and Gilda Vogal. Eddie also leaves behind five grandchildren, Darrick and Caprice Pino, Andrea Dionne, Christopher and Nicholas James; and seven great-grandchildren, Angel Chavez-Pino and Andre Pino, Klassie and Alicia Pino, Samantha and Nicholas Dionne, and Cruzita James. Eddie worked at Albuquerque Police Department for five years then moved to Los Angeles where he worked 17 years as a Deputy Sheriff. Eddie and Naomi returned to Albuquerque where Eddie resumed work at Bernalillo Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff. Eddie was a 4th degree Black Belt and taught self-defense to police officers in the State Police Academy and throughout New Mexico for over a decade, leaving behind the memory of a crippling handshake. A Prayer Service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Temple Baptist Church, 1613 Arizona Street NE. Burial will follow in Sandia Memory Gardens.
