Virginia E. Harkness, 85, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Sharon Watkins of Rockport, TX and Bill Kingston of Bowie, MD; numerous grand nieces and nephews; and two great-grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Harkness. Virginia was co-owner of the former Harkness Drug Store. She was a member of Eastern Star and a founding member of St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, with Rev. Sandra Bess officiating. Entombment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano NW, 87107 or to a charity of your choice.
