Obituary for Balstad

Rolf Balstad, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002. He is survived by his sons, David Balstad of Seligman, AZ and Eric Balstad and wife, Esther of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Trenton Balstad, Travis Balstad, both of Longmont, CO, Erica Balstad of Brighton, CO and Alexis Balstad of Boulder, CO; sister, Naomi Westberg and husband, Walt of Gainesville, FL; and brother, Paul Balstad and wife, Greta of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Iva Balstad. Mr. Balstad worked as a mining engineer and salesman for DuPont in numerous Western States and Mexico, retiring to Albuquerque in 1973. He loved to go sailing and investing in the stock market. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held Friday at Santa Fe National Cemetery. There will be an open house reception of Mr. Balstad's family and friends at the family home, Friday, April 26, 2002, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
