Obituary for Balch

Lewis Balch, 88, a 38 year resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 28, 2002 with his family at his bedside. He was born in Wenatchee, Washington of a pioneering farming family. After working as a teacher and a rancher, he became a machinist and remained in that occupation for over 40 years. He married Juliet Whitaker in 1938, a marriage of 60 years that shall last into eternity. Juliet preceded Lewis in death in 1998. He is survived by his sons, John Balch and wife, Beth; William Balch and wife, Kathleen; Thomas Balch and wife, Julie;Russell Balch; and Richard Balch; daughters, Mary Louise Smith and husband, Alan and Ann Balch; nine grandchildren; and other family and friends. Memorial Services will be held at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano NW on Wednesday, May 1,2002 at 10:00 a.m. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all.
