Obituary for Wheeler

William J. Wheeler, a longtime resident of Albuquerque died on April 30, 2002 in Springfield, Missouri. He was 76 years old. Born November 28, 1925 in Ashland, KY, he was the eldest son of Nola and Bert Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler graduated from Green Township High School in Franklin Furnace, Ohio in 1944, and later attended the University of New Mexico. Mr. Wheeler served in the U.S. Army Air Corps., and for many years worked for Investors Diversified Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Wheeler was pre-deceased in 1978 by his wife, Virginia Lee, whom he married in Scott City, Kansas in 1950. Mr. Wheeler was a lifelong antique car enthusiast, and in retirement, ran Wheeler's Classic Cars in Springfield. Mr. Wheeler was a long-standing member of the Masonic Lodge, as well as the Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple in Albuquerque. Mr. Wheeler is survived by one son, David, a daughter-in-law, Ann; and two teenage grandsons, Marshall Davis and David Graham, all of whom reside in Darien, Connecticut. Mr. Wheeler is also survived by his companion of many years, Mildred Wollard of Springfield; and two brothers, Harold and Clayton, of Frankilin Furnace and Wheelersburg, Ohio, respectively. A Funeral Service is planned for Friday, May 3, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Lawn North Funeral Home, Springfield, MO. with visitation May 2, 2002 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
