Carmen Najera was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on May 8, 2002. Carmen was born on June 5, 1936 in Tome, NM to Doroteo and Senaida Romero. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Jesus Najera; her loving sons, Robert Martinez and wife, Carol and Gabriel Najera and wife, Karla; grandchildren, Bobby Martinez and Melissa Martinez. Also two sisters, Grace Ulibarri and husband, Jose, and Josefa Marquez and husband, Victor; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held Friday May 10, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. also in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Martinez, Mike Romero Sr., Manuel Romero, Abelino Carreco, Mike Romero Jr., and Davie Ulibarri. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Martinez, Gabriel Najera and Johnny Romero. Funeral Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave., SW, 243-5222.
