Obituary for Speegle

Robert (Wink) Speegle, 82, a 50-year resident of Hobbs and more recently Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jewell Speegle; son, Doug Speegle and wife, Paula, son, Richard Speegle and wife, Diana; daughter, Dona Hue Hampton and husband, Loy; five grandchildren, Shelley and husband, Jesse Simmons, Ross Hampton, Jennifer and husband, Kent Messer, Eric Speegle, Nick Speegle and one great-granddaughter, Ryane Simmons. Wink was born in Barry, Texas, November 14, 1919 and served in the United States Army during World War II. He lived in Hobbs for 50 years and retired from Daniel's Insurance Agency and First Equity Realtors. He was a member of Hobbs Realty Insurance Club and American Business Club. He was a big Hobbs Eagles and UNM Lobo fan, and active member of Hoffmantown Church all of which brought him great joy. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Interment will take place Thursday, May 16, 2002, at 11:30 at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Tuesday, May 14, 2002, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
