Modesta C. Padilla, age 87, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died May 17, 2002. Survivors include daughters, Priscilla McAllister of NM, Barbara Robinson and husband, Bill of CO, Mary Gallion of NM; sons, Eddie Padilla and wife, Dubbie of NM, Richard Padilla of NV; brother, Clemente Castillo and wife, Kathy of TX; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Modesta was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Padilla in 1986; parents, Juan and Sophia Castillo; siblings, sister, Maria Dolores Castillo, Tobias Castillo, Leonard Castillo and Benjamin Castillo. She was a member of Aquinas Newman Center and a Girl Scout Leader. Modesta enhanced so many lives with her kind and sweet disposition. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2002 with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2002 at the Gate of Heaven Chapel 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is entrusted to the care of Modesta.
