Obituary for Grier

John Charles Grier Sr.,-passed away May 17, 2002. He was an avid golfer and loved working with his hands to build. He was a wonderful dancer and loved to dance to Big Band music. He got a lot of enjoyment from entertaining guests. He was a loving family man who enjoyed his wife, kids and grandchildren. He enjoyed working in the garden and especially loved roses. He enjoyed all kinds of sports. He is survived by his loving wife Jan, of the family home; and his six children: John Raymond Grier and wife Theresa, John Charles Grier Jr., Deborah Rhodes, Diane Houlihan, Eddie Grier and wife Tracey, and Doddye Johnson and husband Ron. He is also survived by his six sisters and two brothers: James, Marypat, Janie, Helen, Margie, Cecilia, Michael and Sheri and fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many close friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2002 from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE, Albuquerque. A rosary will be held at 7:00 PM in The Chapel of Sandia Funeral Care. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church with Father William McCarren celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at 1:30 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in John's memory to his wife and family to defray funeral expenses.
