Obituary for Garley

Dennis Luben Elias Garley, 84, of Willard, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at his home. He was born May 19, 1918 to Elias and Clarita (Apodoca) Garley in Valencia, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Frances Ortiz Garley whom he married February 25, 1938 in El Paso, Texas; his sons, Arthur and Kathy Garley, Leroy Garley, Michael and Laura Garley, Gerald Garley; his daughters, Pat Toennies, Carmen Garcia and her husband, Jose S, Martha Liszcz, Margaret Garley-Tyler and her husband, Cass and Marina Garley; his brother, Willie Garley; his sisters, Leonela Sanchez and Luz Baca; daughter-in-law Romulda Garley; 27 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Luben was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and he was retired from AT&SF Rail Road, where he worked as a welders helper. He was a member of the VFW and the Willard Seniors Citizens. He was also a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; one sister; and son, Osvaldo"Butch" Garley. Rosaries will be recited Thursday, May 23, 2002, and Friday, May 24, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows in Willard, New Mexico. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 25, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows in Willard with Father Florian Reaud Officiating. Pallbearers will be Skyler Priest, Dale Garley, Adrian Garcia, Tomas Garley, Domingo Barela, Leroy Garley Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren; great-grandchildren and Godchildren. Burial will be at the Willard Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM.
