Obituary for Brown

Gene Lyle Brown Sr., 76, and a resident of Truth or Consequences since 1997, died on May 20, 2002 at Sierra Vista Hospital. Mr. Brown was born on May 18, 1926 in Kankakee, Illinois, the son of Clifford R. and Faye (Milk) Brown. He was a retired Diesel Mechanic and a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. He is survived by his wife, Eileen L. (Gephart) Brown of the family home in TorC; his sons, Skip Martin of Tamms, IL, Texas Martin of Houston, TX, Frank Martin and wife, Linda of Bosque Farms, NM, Bobby Martin and wife, Mary of Anna, IL, Jim Brown of Virginia, Dell Brown of Rio Rancho, NM, Gene Lyle Brown, Jr. and wife, Gay of Albuquerque, NM; by his daughters, Rosalie Kimberlin and husband, James of Tamms, IL, Karol Stamp of Tucson, AZ, Saddy Eddings and husband, Paul of Ullin, IL, Jo Allen Myers of Tamms, IL, Loris Dailey of Rio Rancho, NM and by 48 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and by a sister, Anita Sarwaltz of Kankakee, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Durward Lynn Martin and Eileen Lorraine Brown. A Viewing was held on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 in the Chapel of French Mortuary in TorC and a Prayer Vigil was held at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mass was celebrated on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Art Roberts, CSB officiating. Cremation will follow Mass to be held on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at 9:30 a.m., Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE (Albuquerque) with Rev. Douglas Mitchell officiating.
