Obituary for Perea

Teoflio (Ted) Perea, 77, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a life-long resident of Albuquerque died Friday, May 31, 2002 after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Annabelle Silva and is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ida Perea; son, Theodore (Ted) Perea; daughters, Dorothy Velasquez and husband, Victor, Gerri Chavez and husband, Paul, Evangeline Sedillo and husband, Larry, Debbie Silva, Angela Campos and husband, Al; sisters, Corrine Pimentel and Sally Hoffman; brothers, Philiberto Perea and Phil Candelaria, all of Albuquerque. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and was in sales until his retirement in 1992 after which he enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time with his family. A Rosary will be recited Monday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Edwin's Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona S.W. where he was a long-time member. Funeral Mass will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edwin's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lanny Garcia, Jr., Andrew Silva, Randy Garcia, Trinidad Padilla, Joseph Silva, David Padilla, Jason Gavaldon, Matty Garcia and Paul Chavez. Honorary pallbearers are Irene Chavez, Roselia Silva, and Patricia Padilla. Arrangements by Salazar and Sons, 400 3rd St S.W.
