Obituary for Luna

Candelario Luna, 87, beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Monday, June 3, 2002. Mr. Luna was born in Albuquerque on February 14, 1915 to the late Amadeo and Sofia Luna; he was a resident of San Ysidro, NM; he was a proud Veteran of the United States Army who served our country during World War II. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Alice Mabel Luna of the family home; one son, Henry Luna and wife, Alba; two daughters, Priscilla Van Antwerp and husband, Harold, and Teresa Luna and husband, Stuart McRae; eight grandchildren, Mary Van Antwerp, Darlene Neira and husband, Al, David Van Antwerp and wife, Jackie, Joseph Dickerson, John Dickerson and wife, Berna, Lisa Lasiewicki and husband, Paul, Noelia Sucet and husband, Leandro, and Darius Alban Luna and wife, Paola; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Thomas, Nathan, Kate, Logan, Cameron, Alyssa, Leandra, D'Jovan, Austin and Marina. Mr. Luna will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be held Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary; where a Rosary will be recited tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at San Ysidro Catholic Church in San Ysidro, NM. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be his grandchildren, John, Joe, David, Darius, Noelia and Lisa. Honorary Bearers will be Darlene, and nephew Frank Garcia. Funeral services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street NW.
