Obituary for Gray

Samuel Frederick Gray, Jr., 65, of Santa Fe, passed away Friday, June 7, 2002, at his residence. He was born June 3, 1937, to Samuel Frederick Gray, Sr., and Florence Fleehart. Sam has been a resident of Santa Fe since 1955. He graduated in the class of 1955 at Albuquerque High School, where he served as the Senior Class President. Mr. Gray was a proud father, grandfather, uncle, and cherished friend to many. He loved his coffee buddies, Chaco Canyon, skiing, singing in the church choir at St. Bede's Episcopal Church, collecting hats, and silversmithing. He is survived by; son, Seth Gray and wife, Kim and their children, Seth Wilson and Tricia; son, Sam Gray; son Tom Gray and wife, Charla; daughter, Merleen Gray and husband, Bruce Nadig; daughter, Maya Zollars and husband, Arno and their children, Ashe and Ruby. Other survivors include; Terri Sandoval, Judy Amadea, and Barbara Gray; plus numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Special companions who will miss Sam a lot are Blue and Pearl (his two dogs). Services for Sam will be Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at 3:00 p.m., at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Santa Fe.
