Obituary for Garcia

Julian A. Garcia, 77, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, June 14, 2002. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Virginia in 1997. He is survived by his mother, Dulcinea Sanchez of Albuquerque; son, Rey Garcia, and wife Barbara of Lakewood, CA; daughter, Laura Gartling, and husband David, of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Michael-Rey, R. Lance, Sona Juliana, Mollie Mariana, and Raymundo Vincent; great-granddaughter, Rayannon Garcia; brother, Flaviano Sanchez, Jr. and wife, Billie; sisters, Ruth Jinzo, Eva Sweeney and husband, Ed, Frances Pohl and husband, Charlie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe E. Garcia and wife, Vivian, Mabel Williamson and husband, Michael, Aurelia Garcia; and his close companion for past four years, Louise Garcia; and many nieces and nephews. He was a member of VFW Post 41, DAV Chapter 3, and Teamsters Union 492. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18, 2002 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church, Tijeras, followed by Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. by Father Albert Gallegos. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 19, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church, Tijeras with Father John Carney, Celebrant. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Joe E. Garcia, Michael Williamson, Ed Sweeney, Matt Armenta, Richard Garcia, Carlos Castaneda. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael- Rey Garcia, R. Lance Garcia, Sona Juliana Garcia, Mollie Mariana Garcia, Raymundo Vincent Garcia and Rayannon Garcia. Music will be provided by Charlie Pohl, Chris Jinzo, Joe and Jake Armenta. Arrangements by French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
