Obituary for Smith

Nellie Pauline Smith, longtime resident of Roswell, NM died June 10, 2002 in Castlerock, CO near Denver where she resided for the past two-and-half years. Pauline was born in Iberia, MO July 15, 1913. She was predeceased by her husband, Gene Smith in 1970; and by three granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Pauline is survived by her children, Robert and Tomasita Smith of Denver, CO, Rosemary Ames of Albuquerque, Reba Runyon of Artesia, NM and Gene and Helen Smith of Circleville, Utah; and a special granddaughter, Katherine Pulliam of Albuquerque. Pauline is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pauline and Gene came to New Mexico in 1932 and managed the Diamond A Ranch in Picacho, NM prior to moving to Roswell where he worked for the Sheriff's Department and later the New Mexico State Police Department where he retired. Pauline retired from St. Mary's Hospital where she worked for many years as an LPN. She was renowned at the hospital for her perfect attendance. Services were held at St. Thomas More in Denver on June 18, 2002.
