Obituary for Nordling

Carl A. Nordling, age 101, born April 27, 1901 in Garvin, MN, died June 21, 2002 in Albuquerque, NM. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Esther, who died in 1988. Survivors include sisters, from California Vicki St. John and Ruth Harlan; brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Gladys Prekker. Many nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces. Carl moved from Chicago, where he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, to Albuquerque in 1943. He worked for the Coca Cola Co. for many years. After retiring, he lived at Sky Band Ranch near Winston, NM moving back to Albuquerque in 1988. Having attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, he was active as a Lay Minister in many churches. Carl helped start the Gideon Society in 1944, for 60 years he played Christian music on the same musical saw, all by ear, his wife, Esther accompanied him on the organ. Carl was a kind, generous Christian man much loved by all who knew him. Services are pending and will be announced. Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE is handling arrangements.
